Personal Statement

I am an enthusiastic and dedicated developer who has been practicing the art of coding for over ten years. I find software development to be an exciting fusion of technical problem solving with team based collaboration that presents varied and exciting challenges. For the right company, I can offer years of dedicated service and the flexibility to adapt to your working practices in return for the chance to work with interesting people on something worthwhile.

Skill Set

Working knowledge of .NET framework versions 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0 and Visual Studios 2003 and 2005.
Proven ability to design and implement good solutions to specified problems within the commercial environment.
Excellent planning skills developed from extensive work with customers and team members on a variety of challenging projects.
Ability to debug both familiar and unfamiliar code quickly and effectively using all the tools of the .NET debugging environment.
Able to tap into team knowledge pool; not afraid to ask questions.

As part of the job I have... Gained first hand experience of the full product life cycle from specification through design and implementation and on to testing and maintenance. Demonstrated the ability to take a brief verbal specification and refine it to a design which I then implement and integrate into a complex application. Learned to work as part of a development team on a large, fast moving project, with all the issues and opportunities that that entails. Become familiar with numerous software packages including Visual Studio, MS Access, SQL Server Enterprise Manager, Sunrise Enterprise and Visual SourceSafe. Proposed, designed and implemented a free standing productivity tool from scratch. Learned the importance of personal time management in the quest to deliver a polished product on time.
